| 0.0 | Maia | - H - | Explorers Miners Alien Hunters |
A black hole system in the Pleiades nebula, there are another 2 nearby, one in HR 1185 and one in HIP 17000. This is home to the first nebula based station(s). It is a great jumping off point for exploring the California nebula, Witch nebula, …). Be careful in Open Play there could be human pirates about. I would recommend Explorers to only enter this system either in Solo or in a trusted player group. In and around Maia there is a cluster of blue star systems so bring your scanners (ADS and DSS). There are also several pristine metallic rings around, see here. There is actually a reasonably profitable trade route between Obsidian Orbital and Darnielle's Progress (a planetary station) within this system and it take a minute or so to travel between the 2, this must be one of the fastest trade routes in the game. There are also a lot of missions at both stations back to the bubble and to some military stations in the area. Last but not least, all 3 major factions (Federation, Empire and Alliance) are present here so you can collect bounties for all 3 at once.
| 4.3 | Merope | - M - | Alien Hunters | A pretty system in the Pleiades nebula close to the inhabited system of Maia. It has 2 pristine metallic rings but is most well known for being the centre of the Thargoid Probe mysteries. | |
| 5.5 | Pleione | - L - | Asteroid bases | Stargazer. See this image. See this video. | |
| Space installations | 4 | Squirrel's Nest Bar. See this image. | |||
| 16.4 | HIP 17862 | Roaming Megaship | 6 C | Location of a Thargoid Crash Site The Gnosis , a dockable megaship, originally based in Varati. Moves to different systems, usually on a weekly basis. See the flight plan on ED Wikipedia. The best way to find it is through the given EDDB link (although even this is not always up to date!). Check for the location at both websites as either can be out of date. This is the Canonn's very own megaship. Has full RRR facilities, a commodities market (Hi-Tech) and outfitting (but no Shipyard).Just make sure you are docked in it on the transfer day (each Thursday 07:00 Galaxy Time) and you and your ship will be transferred with it. |

| Alien Wreck | An alien ship wreckage with a few Thargoid Artefacts scattered around. There is also a wreckage of an SRV. Planet 6CA at coordinates 30.33, -98.58. See this Cannon thread. Found by CMDR Denneb. This site is not far from Maia. | ||||
| 17.4 | HIP 17692 | - M - | Asteroid Station | A4 | Blackmount Orbital. See this image. |
| Megaships | A 3 | Alcatraz Class Prison Ship JJF-048. See this image. | |||
| 21.5 | HIP 17225 | - M - | Megaships | A 2 | Aquarius Class Tanker ALF-895 (attacked). See this Canonn Page for more information. |
| 21.5 | HR 1185 | - M - | Megaship | The Indra | The Empire's very own dockable megaship, a High Tech station. For those who would rather not risk parking the Cutter on the nearby Hi-G planet, in the same system, where the Ceres Tarn planetary station is based. See this gallery |
| Hi-g-Landers Explorers |
A black hole system. It also has a high g planet. Planet A4 has a gravitational pull of 4.12g, thats 4.12 times that of earth. Try to land without splatting your spaceship. I managed to land a Diamond Back Explorer, Python and Asp Explorere here without any problems but then I got cocky and tried to land a full loaded Cutter, and splat well more like bounce, bounce, splat. The system is not far from Maia, around 22 Ly. Now there is the station here : Ceres Tarn. Anyways it is on the planet and has full RRR, Outfitting and Shipyard facilities.
| 21.5 | Electra | - M - | Space installations | Zeta 12 | Communications Hub. See this image. |
| 24.6 | Pleiades Sector IH-V c2-5 | - M - | Megaships | 1 | Thomas Class Bulk Cargo Ship DFX-056 (attacked). See this image. |
| 28.6 | HIP 16217 | Surface structures | Planet AB1A | Penal Colony BV 2259. See this Canonn link for more information. | |
| 28.6 | HIP 17403 | Alien Wreck | Another alien ship wreckage with several Thargoid Artefacts scattered around. A very creepy site. Planet A6A at coordinates -34.96, -141.37. See this Yo-Tube video. This site is not far from Maia. | ||
| 30.4 | Pleiades Sector IR-W d1-55 | Megaships | The Oracle | Samson Class Bulk Cargo Ship BTG-237 (attacked). See this image. | |
| Megaships | 1 | Sanchez Class Science Vessel ZIG-097. See this image. | |||
| 34.9 | Pleiades Sector LN-S b4-3 | Alien Hunters | Planet C 3, -13.1651, -54.358 | Another location for an alien encounter at a barnacle site. This time a potato planet. The barnacle fronds can be harvested for synthesis materials, these seem to be readily available: Iron, Carbon, Sulphur, Phosphorus, Germanium, Manganes, Chromium and Nickel. You can also harvest this barnacle pair for Arsenic, Tin and Tellurium and of course Meta-alloys (this pair has 5). Best to sell Meta-Alloys at Darnielle's Progress to get the highest price (around 115000 CR each). Don't destroy all the barnacles fronds as I believe that kills of the site completely, but mode switch and and collect as much as you need. | |
| 36.7 | HIP 17125 | Alien Wreck Generation Ship |
The wreckage of an old style thargoid scout ship with several thargoid materials (suitable for fullfilling the Palin missions handed out at Obsidian Orbital in Maia) scattered around. Planet A 3 A at coordinates -65.8193, 48.8662. Use this -65.8193, 48.8662 get your bearings! There is also a generation ship here, 'Victoria's Song', at planet A7A see this link for details. This planet on which the crash scout ship is found orbits a gas giant. Now co-orbiting this gas giant is a terraformable water world. These are worth a lot so bring your Detailed Surface Scanner and earn a little extra.
| Megaships | A 3 | Victoria's Song survey vessel. See this image. | |||
| 39.2 | HIP 16378 | Wreckage | 3 b at 37.0654, -147.8092 | There is the site of the wreckage of the 'Stargazer'. I found the area around the wreckage, within a large crater, to be rich in Niobium. See this gallery page for more details. | |
| 45.0 | HIP 16613 | Wreckage | 1 A (lat: -11.0093, lon: -95.6755) | A wrecked Anaconda. Very similar to the Anaconda wreckage in Orrere. | |
| 48.3 | Pleiades Sector HR-W d1-57 | - M - | Megaships | A 5 | Demeter Class Agricultural Vessel KSL-8778. See this image. |
| 53.7 | Pleiades Sector PN-T b3-0 | Barnacle Hunters | Planet A5, at coordinates -4.4946, 145.6557 | The location of a barnacle forest | |
| 65.0 | Pleiades Sector OI-T c3-7 | - M - | Alien Hunters | A6, -42.7782, -21.7144 | Original location of an alien encounter at a barnacle site. I also had an alien/thargoid encounter here. There are 2 other barnacle sites, in this system, known for Alien encounters. One here -47.4533, -18.4075 and one here -41.3795, 67.1302 Note that I had 3 encounters with the Thargoids at this planet, however it only has 1 Meta Alloy that can be harvested. The barnacle fronds can be harvested for synthesis materials, these seem to be readily available: Iron, Carbon, Sulphur, Phosphorus, Germanium, Manganes, Chromium and Nickel. You can also harvest these barnacles for Meta-alloys. Best to sell Meta-Alloys at Darnielle's Progress to get the highest price (around 115000 CR each). Don't destroy all the barnacles fronds as I believe that kills of the site completely, but mode switch and collect as much as you need. |
| 73.8 | Pleiades Sector LN-T c3-4 | Alien Wreck | Planet 2A -60.8915, 42.5718 | The wreckage of an old style thargoid scout ship with several thargoid materials (suitable for fullfilling the Palin missions handed out at Obsidian Orbital in Maia) scattered around. See this forum link | |
| 73.9 | Pleiades Sector AB-W b2-4 | - M - | Alien Wreck | Alien space ship wreckage. Planet 9A at coordinates -26.3772, 97.6982. See this Cannon thread. Credit to CMDR Nochtrach, CMDR BALALAIKAX3, and CMDR Ihazevich. | |
| 79.3 | HIP 16813 | - M - | Asteroid Stations | Sisters' Refuge | An asteroid station, 3,557 Ls from the entry star is within the ring of planetary body A 1. The system is located about half way between the Pleaides Nebula and the bubble. See this gallery for some pictures. There is also a PMR ring (planet B1) in the same system, but it is a short trek, about 204000 Ls (10-15 minutes) from the main entry star. The station has full RRR services and unusually for a remote(ish) station, a Shipyard. Also shown in this video. Sources(s): TankMaster. |
| 80.0 | Pleiades Sector EW-W c1-6 | Materials Hunters | Planetary object 1, 12 Ls from the main entry star has 2.8% Ruthenium. For other good Ruthenium sources try this EDDB link here. Adding to its worth is the fact that it also has 3.1% Niobium, which is a very high level. | ||
| 92.6 | HIP 19026 | Alien Hunters | Planet B 1 C, -17.9526, -152.6844 | A Thargoid Sensor or Thargoid Probe is required to open the structures portals. See this video |
The system name links through to Inara where details of the stations in the system and their facilities can be obtained and also trade opportunities etc. (when it is available).
Most of the resources systems here I have found myself but many I have found on the elite dangerous forums and have given the links and credit where necessary. For Ship docks, Megaships, Installations and Asteroid bases I mostly used the information supplied by Alec Turner and AlistairHope.
