You can boost from one to the other but it will take a couple of minutes. There are a couple of satellites that can be scanned and the various military vessels on patrol can also be scanned. I topped up on Arsenic here myself (and got my fill of Niobium as well), went to the largest crater I could find and then searched a gorge right next to it. Look for mesosiderite, which appears on the scanner as a very thin band at the bottom.

It is claimed that this abandoned settlement belonged to the unfortunate crew of a generation ship that missed its intended target but that is not so clear from the logs. The barnacle fronds can be harvested for synthesis materials, these seem to be readily available: Iron, Carbon, Sulphur, Phosphorus, Germanium, Manganes, Chromium and Nickel. You can also harvest this barnacle pair for Arsenic, Tin and Tellurium and of course Meta-alloys (this pair has 5). Best to sell Meta-Alloys at Darnielle's Progress to get the highest price (around 115000 CR each). Don't destroy all the barnacles fronds as I believe that kills of the site completely, but mode switch and and collect as much as you need.

This planet on which the crash scout ship is found orbits a gas giant. Now co-orbiting this gas giant is a terraformable water world. These are worth a lot so bring your Detailed Surface Scanner and earn a little extra.

Check out the Federation Battlecruiser near Earth (unless the Thargoids have already got to it) but don’t get too close, there is also one near Mars but apparently it is the president's personal ship and if you get too close they open fire. I seem to remember that this system has inter-system trade potential, buying metals at the extraction stations and selling them at the service ones. I think Jupiter has some RESs for bounty hunting within a ring that is unusually sparse of ‘roids. I went here to get selfies in front of all the famous planets and moons.

211.0	HR 1185	- M -	Megaship	The Indra	The Empire's very own dockable megaship, a High Tech station. For those who would rather not risk parking the Cutter on the nearby Hi-G planet, in the same system, where the Ceres Tarn planetary station is based. See this gallery
			Hi-g-Landers Explorers		A black hole system. It also has a high g planet. Planet A4 has a gravitational pull of 4.12g, thats 4.12 times that of earth. Try to land without splatting your spaceship. I managed to land a Diamond Back Explorer, Python and Asp Explorere here without any problems but then I got cocky and tried to land a full loaded Cutter, and splat well more like bounce, bounce, splat. The system is not far from Maia, around 22 Ly. Now there is the station here : Ceres Tarn. Anyways it is on the planet and has full RRR, Outfitting and Shipyard facilities.

There are 2 other barnacle sites, in this system, known for Alien encounters. One here -47.4533, -18.4075 and one here -41.3795, 67.1302 Note that I had 3 encounters with the Thargoids at this planet, however it only has 1 Meta Alloy that can be harvested. 219.1	Merope	- M -	Alien Hunters		A pretty system in the Pleiades nebula close to the inhabited system of Maia. It has 2 pristine metallic rings but is most well known for being the centre of the Thargoid Probe mysteries.
219.5	Epsilon Indi	- H -	Canyon Runners		Do some canyon running here. Mitterand hollow as shown here by 777Driver. Mitterand is a small moon orbiting the planet New Africa. Mitterand Hollow is also an amazing planet for the speed in which it orbits its mother planet, around 90 seconds. Land on it and watch the mother planet go flying past every 90 seconds or so.

221.1	Maia	- H -	Explorers Miners Alien Hunters		A black hole system in the Pleiades nebula, there are another 2 nearby, one in HR 1185 and one in HIP 17000. This is home to the first nebula based station(s). It is a great jumping off point for exploring the California nebula, Witch nebula, …). Be careful in Open Play there could be human pirates about. I would recommend Explorers to only enter this system either in Solo or in a trusted player group. In and around Maia there is a cluster of blue star systems so bring your scanners (ADS and DSS). There are also several pristine metallic rings around, see here. There is actually a reasonably profitable trade route between Obsidian Orbital and Darnielle's Progress (a planetary station) within this system and it take a minute or so to travel between the 2, this must be one of the fastest trade routes in the game. There are also a lot of missions at both stations back to the bubble and to some military stations in the area. Last but not least, all 3 major factions (Federation, Empire and Alliance) are present here so you can collect bounties for all 3 at once.

Well they are still there and if you can get pass the inevitable interdictions and get to their outpost Converse Platform, there seems to be a lot of illicit missions and a few legal ones as well. The system next door, Villing, is not much better although it did not have the range of high value missions that I found here

224.9	Koli Discii	- M -	Surface structures	C 6 A (lat: 28.5560, lon: 7.1570)	Gregorys Rest, an abandoned surface structure. See this gallery. Not far from the wrecked Anaconda. When I visted, unlike Dav's Hope, there were no materials than could be collected here. However scanning the data beacon yielded an 'Abandoned Settlement Location Data Package' worth around 120,000 CR.
			Wreckage	C 6 A (lat: 28.5777, lon: 7.2193)	A wrecked Anaconda. Very similar to the Anaconda wreckage in Orrere. It has 3 cargo cannisters that yield rare materials when shot. When I was there, it yielded Ruthenium, Tungsten, Antimony, Zirconium and Tellurium. Re-log to get your fill of these rare materials. There are also some valuable metals lying around for salvage (some gold, beryllium, palladium and bertrandite). See this Koli Discii Anaconda Wreck Gallery. Not far from the abandoned surface structure 'Gregorys Rest'. Every bit as good as the Anaconda wreckage in Orrere but no fumbling around in the dark (at least there wasn't on my visit).
