0.0 | Sothis | - H - | Explorers Smugglers Miners Rare traders |
Note that Te Kaha, Takarua, HIP 8396, Robigo, Ceos and Sothis form a semblance of a line of systems ending here at Sothis. Sophis has 2 stations, a terraforming one and an extraction one. Take crystalline gold from the main station back to the bubble (a Rare), allocation seems to be 20 tons which is a lot for a rare. Another system, Ceos, is nearby so it is often the target of short range missions from Sothis. For miners, very close by is a Pristine Metallic Ring system (HIP 11879) although be warned, Sophis and nearby Ceos are crap-tacular for mining supplies (and it is a long trek to the nearest well stocked Hi-Tech system). A great jump off point for deep space exploration, there is a Wolf-Rayet star (HIP 5100) within 150Ly and some binary stars a bit further out from that, although I didn’t spot them until after I had returned from the Wolfy-Rayet star, Doh!. There are a few black holes around (Mintaka?). There is also a small nebula LBN 642? nearby. Also this system is on the way to the California nebula, Witchhead nebula, Horse's something nebula and a whole bunch of other nebulas all in one big galactic dust-up so big it is pretty much visible everywhere. Perhaps, do a circular mini-exploration loop by returning via Merope. Whilst you are here, nearby Mirphak is a great source for Niobium (3.2%)
59.0 | Robigo | - M - | Smugglers Explorers Canyon Runners |
An overlooked facet of Robigo is the spectacular outlook from the space station, which overlooks a planetary asteroid ring from above. Moon 1B, not far from the system outpost is great for canyon runs as mentioned here.
72.6 | HIP 12432 | High Value Systems | A high value exploration system. Approximate value of 3387074 CR for the following
123.5 | Mirphak | Materials Hunter | Planetary object A 2 is a beautiful velvet red coloured class IV gas giant. All of the moons of this gas giant are metal rich and so well worth a detailed scan. They are also very small, the largest is 210 km in radius. Most interesting of all is the moon A2d which has a very high 3.2% Niobium, one of the highest in the galaxy according to EDDB. It also has Arsenic at 2.2% and Selenium at 3.3%. There is a pod of type B blue stars nearby, including a black hole in nearby 39 Delta Persei. So although it is slightly away from the bubble it is well worth a snozzle.
136.0 | Takurua | - H - | Amazing Stations | Sirius Reach is a station still under construction that has engines to move it into orbit. Mentioned by Obsidian Ant in this video
247.3 | HIP 19026 | Alien Hunters | Planet B 1 C, -17.9526, -152.6844 | A Thargoid Sensor or Thargoid Probe is required to open the structures portals. See this video

253.1 | Pleiades Sector AB-W b2-4 | - M - | Alien Wreck | Alien space ship wreckage. Planet 9A at coordinates -26.3772, 97.6982. See this Cannon thread. Credit to CMDR Nochtrach, CMDR BALALAIKAX3, and CMDR Ihazevich.
268.7 | Pleiades Sector EW-W c1-6 | Materials Hunters | Planetary object 1, 12 Ls from the main entry star has 2.8% Ruthenium. For other good Ruthenium sources try this EDDB link here. Adding to its worth is the fact that it also has 3.1% Niobium, which is a very high level.

282.6 | Pleiades Sector LN-T c3-4 | Alien Wreck | Planet 2A -60.8915, 42.5718 | The wreckage of an old style thargoid scout ship with several thargoid materials (suitable for fullfilling the Palin missions handed out at Obsidian Orbital in Maia) scattered around. See this forum link
287.0 | HIP 16378 | Wreckage | 3 b at 37.0654, -147.8092 | There is the site of the wreckage of the 'Stargazer'. I found the area around the wreckage, within a large crater, to be rich in Niobium. See this gallery page for more details.
293.7 | HIP 17125 | Alien Wreck Generation Ship |
The wreckage of an old style thargoid scout ship with several thargoid materials (suitable for fullfilling the Palin missions handed out at Obsidian Orbital in Maia) scattered around. Planet A 3 A at coordinates -65.8193, 48.8662. Use this -65.8193, 48.8662 get your bearings! There is also a generation ship here, 'Victoria's Song', at planet A7A see this link for details. This planet on which the crash scout ship is found orbits a gas giant. Now co-orbiting this gas giant is a terraformable water world. These are worth a lot so bring your Detailed Surface Scanner and earn a little extra.
Megaships | A 3 | Victoria's Song survey vessel. See this image.
295.5 | HIP 18987 | Materials Hunter Explorers |
Planet C2 | Has 2.7% Ruthenium, which for a bubble system is very high according to EDDB. It also has 2.9% Niobium which is one of the highest levels in and around the bubble.
296.2 | HIP 16217 | Surface structures | Planet AB1A | Penal Colony BV 2259. See this Canonn link for more information.

306.3 | Pleiades Sector LN-S b4-3 | Alien Hunters | Planet C 3, -13.1651, -54.358 | Another location for an alien encounter at a barnacle site. This time a potato planet. The barnacle fronds can be harvested for synthesis materials, these seem to be readily available: Iron, Carbon, Sulphur, Phosphorus, Germanium, Manganes, Chromium and Nickel. You can also harvest this barnacle pair for Arsenic, Tin and Tellurium and of course Meta-alloys (this pair has 5). Best to sell Meta-Alloys at Darnielle's Progress to get the highest price (around 115000 CR each). Don't destroy all the barnacles fronds as I believe that kills of the site completely, but mode switch and and collect as much as you need.
306.7 | Aries Dark Region FW-W d1-59 | High Value Systems | A high value exploration system. Approximate value of 3831702 CR for the following
310.3 | HIP 17403 | Alien Wreck | Another alien ship wreckage with several Thargoid Artefacts scattered around. A very creepy site. Planet A6A at coordinates -34.96, -141.37. See this Yo-Tube video. This site is not far from Maia.
312.7 | Pleiades Sector IH-V c2-5 | - M - | Megaships | 1 | Thomas Class Bulk Cargo Ship DFX-056 (attacked). See this image. |
313.6 | Mel 22 Sector SK-E b12-1 | Alien Hunters | Planet 2, 40.8408, -104.0889 | A fully active alien structure to explore, that is always in daylight, no fumbling around in the dark. See this gallery. A Thargoid Sensor or Thargoid Probe is required to open the structures portals.
314.7 | Maia | - H - | Explorers Miners Alien Hunters |
A black hole system in the Pleiades nebula, there are another 2 nearby, one in HR 1185 and one in HIP 17000. This is home to the first nebula based station(s). It is a great jumping off point for exploring the California nebula, Witch nebula, …). Be careful in Open Play there could be human pirates about. I would recommend Explorers to only enter this system either in Solo or in a trusted player group. In and around Maia there is a cluster of blue star systems so bring your scanners (ADS and DSS). There are also several pristine metallic rings around, see here. There is actually a reasonably profitable trade route between Obsidian Orbital and Darnielle's Progress (a planetary station) within this system and it take a minute or so to travel between the 2, this must be one of the fastest trade routes in the game. There are also a lot of missions at both stations back to the bubble and to some military stations in the area. Last but not least, all 3 major factions (Federation, Empire and Alliance) are present here so you can collect bounties for all 3 at once.
315.5 | Hyades Sector DR-V c2-23 | - L - | Abandoned Station | A 5 | There is an abandoned planetary mining settlement, called 'Dav's Hope', on this planetary object at 44.818, -31.389. See this gallery for more information and here is a video. Engineering materials spawn here, here is a list of materials and the span points on a map of Dav's Hope by Dognoosh. |
Base Jumping | A5 ("Dav's Hope" planetary settlement) at 46.4223, -30.7504 | Mountain close to Dav's Hope - Fun to climb, deadly to go down (Schimz) A great base jumping location with 0.08g gravity but the landing is poor (very rugged terrain, need a smaller ship like a DBX, landing spot at 45.3473, -30.9284). For more info see this video Source(s):Alec Turner
316.5 | HIP 17862 | Roaming Megaship | 6 C | Location of a Thargoid Crash Site The Gnosis , a dockable megaship, originally based in Varati. Moves to different systems, usually on a weekly basis. See the flight plan on ED Wikipedia. The best way to find it is through the given EDDB link (although even this is not always up to date!). Check for the location at both websites as either can be out of date. This is the Canonn's very own megaship. Has full RRR facilities, a commodities market (Hi-Tech) and outfitting (but no Shipyard).Just make sure you are docked in it on the transfer day (each Thursday 07:00 Galaxy Time) and you and your ship will be transferred with it. |
|
Alien Wreck | An alien ship wreckage with a few Thargoid Artefacts scattered around. There is also a wreckage of an SRV. Planet 6CA at coordinates 30.33, -98.58. See this Cannon thread. Found by CMDR Denneb. This site is not far from Maia.

An old Cobra (Cobra JJ-386) wreck is also found on HIP 12099 1B at -54.36 -50.36. It seems to be a legendary one. The logs found in place indicated that it was the Cobra of Jameson himself ! Discovered by: Cmdr Robbie (Canonn).

329.7 | HR 1185 | - M - | Megaship | The Indra | The Empire's very own dockable megaship, a High Tech station. For those who would rather not risk parking the Cutter on the nearby Hi-G planet, in the same system, where the Ceres Tarn planetary station is based. See this gallery |
Hi-g-Landers Explorers |
A black hole system. It also has a high g planet. Planet A4 has a gravitational pull of 4.12g, thats 4.12 times that of earth. Try to land without splatting your spaceship. I managed to land a Diamond Back Explorer, Python and Asp Explorere here without any problems but then I got cocky and tried to land a full loaded Cutter, and splat well more like bounce, bounce, splat. The system is not far from Maia, around 22 Ly. Now there is the station here : Ceres Tarn. Anyways it is on the planet and has full RRR, Outfitting and Shipyard facilities.
330.6 | Pleiades Sector IR-W d1-55 | Megaships | The Oracle | Samson Class Bulk Cargo Ship BTG-237 (attacked). See this image.
Megaships | 1 | Sanchez Class Science Vessel ZIG-097. See this image.
332.5 | HIP 21478 | Generation ship | Target the 1st planet. It is a purple ringed planet. | Survey vessel, Pandora, a non-dockable megaship, see this link.
333.0 | Col 285 Sector UZ-O c6-9 | - L - | Abandoned Station | B 6 | There is an abandoned planetary settlement, called "Orion's Folly", on this planetary object at -87.04, -10.52. It is claimed that this abandoned settlement belonged to the unfortunate crew of a generation ship that missed its intended target but that is not so clear from the logs. Engineering materials are known to spawn here. Check out CMDR Scott's Page for more details. |
335.4 | Aries Dark Region QT-R c4-9 | Materials Hunter | Planet Aries Dark Region QT-R c4-9 A 1 has 5.5% Zirconium and Cadmium at 3.7%, top of the range for both element types. It is just outside the bubble.
341.2 | Synuefai LX-R d5-28 | - M - | Explorers | A far out inhabited system on the way to the California Nebula. There are 2 stations here. Agricultural Orbis station New Beaumont Dock is here and has a Shipyard, Outfitting and full RRR facilities. The other station, Perseus Hold, is planetary and is also an Agricultural station and the only planetary station I know of with an Agricultural based Commodities Market (this could be a bug).
Megaships | Demeter or Dionysis Class (attacked).
342.4 | HIP 16813 | - M - | Asteroid Stations | Sisters' Refuge | An asteroid station, 3,557 Ls from the entry star is within the ring of planetary body A 1. The system is located about half way between the Pleaides Nebula and the bubble. See this gallery for some pictures. There is also a PMR ring (planet B1) in the same system, but it is a short trek, about 204000 Ls (10-15 minutes) from the main entry star. The station has full RRR services and unusually for a remote(ish) station, a Shipyard. Also shown in this video. Sources(s): TankMaster. |
345.2 | Pleiades Sector PN-T b3-0 | Barnacle Hunters | Planet A5, at coordinates -4.4946, 145.6557 | The location of a barnacle forest
346.1 | 49 Arietis | - M - | Explorers Experimenters |
Put yourself in the hands of the Frontier gods, this is their experiment system Also a good jump off point for entering deep space.
346.7 | Pleiades Sector OI-T c3-7 | - M - | Alien Hunters | A6, -42.7782, -21.7144 | Original location of an alien encounter at a barnacle site. I also had an alien/thargoid encounter here. There are 2 other barnacle sites, in this system, known for Alien encounters. One here -47.4533, -18.4075 and one here -41.3795, 67.1302 Note that I had 3 encounters with the Thargoids at this planet, however it only has 1 Meta Alloy that can be harvested. The barnacle fronds can be harvested for synthesis materials, these seem to be readily available: Iron, Carbon, Sulphur, Phosphorus, Germanium, Manganes, Chromium and Nickel. You can also harvest these barnacles for Meta-alloys. Best to sell Meta-Alloys at Darnielle's Progress to get the highest price (around 115000 CR each). Don't destroy all the barnacles fronds as I believe that kills of the site completely, but mode switch and collect as much as you need. |
350.4 | HIP 16613 | Wreckage | 1 A (lat: -11.0093, lon: -95.6755) | A wrecked Anaconda. Very similar to the Anaconda wreckage in Orrere.
354.5 | BD+22 4939 | - L - | Explorers | Another remote system, about 130 Ly from the bubble. There are some other inhabited systems around this one but only 1 other contains a station with docking facilities, the refinery Thornycraft Terminal in Synuefai LC-C B46-1. Also in this system is a military station with full facilities. I think this has been taken over by a player faction, the long range smuggling missions are possibly gone.
357.0 | HIP 16824 | INRA | Planet A 2 F, 73.87, 61.87 | An old INRA base, Carmichael Point at Bearing : 73.87 61.87. Discovery credits to: Cmdr Jack Corban (Canonn).

385.5 | 4 Beta Trianguli | Explorers | An uninhabited system within the bubble, has 5 terraformable planets on one star, a system scan here netted me 277000CR and that was before the exploration buff, now each of the terraformables would yield more than that alone..
400.2 | 102 Iota Tauri | - L - | Materials Hunter Explorers |
Planet B 2 a has 3.0% Niobium, the highest in the bubble according to EDDB. It aslo has Arsenic at 2.1% so you might collect some of that as well. The same planet also has 3.0% Tin which is very high for a bubble system, making this planet a metrial collector's gem.
401.3 | Antobri | - H - | Capital ship dock | Treshchov Dock | Capital ship dock. See this image. Source(s):IronAnode |
401.9 | Diaguandri | - M - | Ship Buyers | Good outfitting and purchasing of the larger ships with a 15% reduction on the purchase price and parts fitted (and consequently a lower insurance) at Ray Gateway. Has several pristine metallic rings nearby but the nearest is in HIP 13644.

414.4 | Synuefai KI-H d11-64 | Materials Hunters | Planet 2IA | A good source of Arsenic at 3.0%. This system is close to the remote system BD+22 4939. For other good Arsenic sources try this EDDB link here
420.5 | New Yembo | - L - | Miners Explorers |
A full DSS scan is worth a lot, I had to do it twice because I crashed into a ‘roid (Doh!). Which leads on to the joke, what have Asteroids and Haemorrhoids got in common, answer, they can both be a pain in the arse. The first 7 planets are ringed high metal worlds but the system also has 4 terraformable planets (planetary bodies 10, 12 13A and 14) and a water world (11) and many, many ringed planets and stars. As a far out system, it is another exploration jump off point. Unity, the main station orbits the water world. It also has a couple of pristine metallic rings.
423.3 | Tutumu | - M - | Materials Hunters | Moon 4EA has 4.8% Selenium. It is a 0.03g ice world so you can also have some fun there.
425.7 | HIP 15304 | - L - | Materials Hunters | Planet 6CA | Has a very high 2.9% Arsenic content. This is one of the highest levels in the bubble. For other good Arsenic sources try this EDDB link here. I topped up on Arsenic here myself (and got my fill of Niobium as well), went to the largest crater I could find and then searched a gorge right next to it. Look for mesosiderite, which appears on the scanner as a very thin band at the bottom. |
427.9 | HIP 19818 | Materials Hunter Explorers |
Planet 1 | Has 2.4% Tungsten, which for a bubble system is very high according to EDDB. It also has Vanadium at 10.9% which is one of the highest levels within the bubble.

454.9 | Synuefai EB-R c7-5 | - M - | Explorers | A far out inhabited system on the way to the California Nebula. An extraction based Orbis station California Gateway is based here. Unfortunately it has no Shipyard but does have outfitting and full RRR facilities. There are a number of RESs in the system including a HAZ-RES and 2 HI-RES not far from the station. When last checked (July 2018), the station had no standard missions (except donation missions) but plenty of passenger missions. It is quite a boring area (IMHO) of space most of the nearby systems consist of stars only, and there are very few pristine metallic mining spots nearby.
